Back to the roots

For a while now I've had the idea in mind to learn some Bulgarian traditional dances. Not just the straight 2 steps forward 1 step back or 4 steps forward 2 steps back formation, but something a bit more complex. Last summer I tried to learn a dance from the region around Sofia called Shopsko horo, which is similar to this. However, the dance that really catches the eye is Djangurica (U.S. pronounciation: jan-gu-ri-tsa).

Hey Radi,
this is like the Horon dance that the Black Sea region in Turkey is famous for. it is the faster version of Halay dance. this is neat, we also danced to 2 of them in our wedding. that was pretty awesome with about 20-25 people.
